- 24 boneless, skinless, chicken thighs
- 1 cup pure orange marmalade, low sugar
- 1/2 cup orange juice (mixed/dilute not from concentrate)
- 1 heaping Tbsp fresh grated ginger
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp chili garlic sauce
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 large naval orange, sliced and cut in half
——————————
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Place chicken thighs, side-by-side, in a large roasting dish.
In a small bowl, whisk together: orange marmalade, orange juice, ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce and chili garlic sauce, until well combined.
Spread the sauce over chicken thighs and bake in oven for 30 minutes.
Remove chicken from oven and add orange slices, mixing to combine with chicken. Sprinkle brown sugar over thighs and return to oven for another 25 minutes or until chicken has cooked through. For the last 5 minutes of cooking time, finish thighs under the broiler (watching carefully), to get a nice golden hue.
Spoon some of the sauce over chicken when serving and add a slice or two of orange.

This chicken looks delicious Kelly, what a great recipe! Love your blog and so glad to be a new follower! xoxo

Hehe, you sound like the exact opposite of me – I enjoy having people over – I enjoy their company, and I’m happy to be graced by their presence, but it has to be on my terms – a) They will understand that from when they arrive, dinner will always be about 2 hours later and throughout this time I will stay in the kitchen. b) I will not engage in idle chit-chat when there’s cooking to be done and c) as soon as we’ve eaten, and in between each course, I will disappear back to my kitchen sanctuary to do the dishes as I can’t abide the mess! :D
Beautiful looking recipe – I love orange and chicken together, such a beautiful blend of flavours.

What a fantastic meal – I love the idea of using marmalade however must confess to always using chicken pieces with the skin on – I know, naughty but oh so nice.
Have a happy day.

Kelly this is fabulous! I know everyone in my family would enjoy this dinner. The glaze sounds just delicious! And that stuffed pepper side dish looks pretty darn good as well!!! Hope the school year has gotten off to a good start!
Sissi says
It sounds foolproof and fantastic at the same time! (And light, as all of your recipes). If you ask me now what type of dishes I look for when I have guests, I’ll tell you the same: can’t-go-wrong, easy, quick etc.. However, when THE day comes, something weird happens to my brain and I start cooking new, complicated recipes, some of which are a complete failure of course… The following day I tell myself “I will never do the same mistake again”, and I do this again and again…
Jeanette says
Love how simple this recipe is and that it is a do ahead meal.
Amy-Nutrition by Nature says
YUM! That sounds amazing. This would go over very well in our house. I do not like to be in the kitchen preparing meals when we have company over either, would rather be enjoying the time together, love good meals that allow for that! Thank you. :-)
SallyBR says
My kind of recipe, all the way, I LOVE chicken thighs and usually grill them, but this preparation seems even better now that – unfortunately – the oven will be turned on as the weather cools down (insert discreet tears here)

This sounds like something I would love, orange, sesame and ginger…YUM! I am quite opposite…I usually try out new recipes on my guests! I can usually tell if it will work out. Mind you, I did just pre-make a Moroccan dessert to make sure it was dessert worthy…and it was.
